My second childbirth, I decided to go to government hospital. In government hospital, the doctor will not be so profit-oriented. I'm also lucky to meet the Head of O&G Dept, Dr Wan Hamilton in one of my follow-up visit in Serdang Hospital. She is very friendly & believes in natural birth. She signed my HB birth plan.
All these while, I have wanted to give birth in the wad instead of going to labour room. I visualized the birthing. In fact, it appeared a few times in my dream too. On the day of my birth, everything just went smoothly as planned. I went to the hospital with just 3cm dilation. As long as below 3cm, I can rest in the maternity ward as I wanted to. In the ward, the nurses did not check on me as I remained calm. (I observed that as long as we are calm, the nurse will not come and do the vaginal examination). I did the breathing & listened to the HB CD. Somehow, breathing did not work on me during the surges. I visualized the opening of flower bud. This worked better for me and provided much comfort.
After some time, I noticed that my bed was reclining lower. As I walked out from my ward to call the nurse to adjust my bed, my membranes released at the hall way. On the way back to my bed, I felt my baby was coming out. Without wasting much time, I laid down & waited for my baby to push her way out. Nurse came to assist me. There wasn't time to go to the labour ward. They had my birth plan & followed. They even asked for my permission to cut the cord & also when they can clean my baby.
I felt very fresh & awake after the birth. Unlike my previous birth, I was so drowsy for more than 24 hours. I went home on the same day too (12 hours after birth).
HB class has given me the confidence and better understanding of childbirth. Childbirth is not so scary after all. Practicing HB also benefited my baby. She is very alert right after birth. And she is very smart.
