I birthed on 1 August. I think the baby 'dengar cakap' (compliant)... because I kept telling him to pop out on 1 August, hehehe....as it is easier for me to arrange my leave, hahaha....
I had the birth show on 30 July, but at that time I had no surges at all! I went for a check up that day and I told the nurse. They asked me why I was still waiting and not going to the hospital. I explained that I had no pain/surge. so the nurses there asked me to go to the hospital as soon as surges started.
Around 5pm I went to Hospital Putrajaya, as I started to feel the surges. Just mild ones. The staff at the counter told me that the ward was full and I was supposed to go and find other hospital as Putrajaya and Serdang were already full! They suggested Hospital Kajang and HUKM, but my husband said that the hospitals were quite far. So, we decided to find private hospital around Bangi.
We went to a private hospital in Bangi for a dilation check up. I was just 1 or 2cm at that time. So, we went back home. I still can manage the pressure that night.
On 31 July, I went to Putrajaya Hospital, for the second time to 'cuba nasib' (try my luck) but still unlucky. They asked me to go again around 4pm. At 4pm I went again but the ward was still full. They had a dilation check up on me at that time. It was a nightmare! I can still remember the pain when the doctor 'seluk' (did vaginal examination.) They said it was 2cm at that time. Huhhh......then they asked me to go back, and come again when the surges is 10 minutes apart.
Going back from the hospital, I told my husband that I won't go there again! We decided to go to Az-Zahra, private hospital in Bangi, when the time comes. I went back home and had my dinner, watched TV, and did some other things.... the surges were 20 minutes apart.
At 10.30 pm, I went to the private hospital. I was 3cm and the baby was ok. The midwife advised me to rest there. At 1am on 1 August, the surges got harder but I can still manage. I informed the midwife that the surges were more frequent. I kept practising all the breathing techniques. It helps me a lot to control the pain, but I think I forgot to change position as I was too busy controlling the pressure, busy practising the breathing techniques.
Later, a nurse came to my room and told me that she want to give me enema before taking me to the labor room. I was quite shocked at that time because I didn't imagine that the time is coming nearer, hahaha.
So at 2am, I was taken to the labor room accompanied by my husband. He was there all the time. Between 2 to 4am, the surges came and went, but I can still sleep. It was around 4am when I started to have strong surges. The doctor started to prepare me for birthing.
However it was challenging to birth the baby out. After many tries, the doctor gave me a choice of vacuum or c-section. I opted for vacuum as I think I needed assistance that time. Maybe it was because baby's head 'senget sedikit' (not in proper position), so I had problem to push him out. Luckily the placenta came out easily.
At 6.05am, the baby pop out! :-) Khalis is 51cm in height and weighs 3.3kg.
p/s: Actually I had a dream 2 or 3 days before the "birthing" day, that I was admitted to one hospital, but I remembered clearly that it was not Putrajaya hospital....hahaha... I guess I have been 'told'...
